My father was 93 when he died, but his mind started deteriorating five years before that. Watching him lose a step here and there was painful for our entire family. He would have preferred to die of a heart attack while taking a walk, but as it turned out, he had a long time to consider what was just over the horizon. He thought carefully about the comfort and safety of his wife and family after he was gone.

Excellent reminder! My wife and I were just speaking last night about a couple of her widowed girlfriends and how one confided in her and told her after her husband died, she was totally lost and still really does not know what to do!
Of course as advisors, we speak to our clients about the need for a will or trust. But have is accessible to the family when their gone with the necessary additional instructions of “how to proceed” is Love for their family!
