When it comes to finances, women have historically gotten the short end of the stick. In 2022, for every $1 that men made, women earned 82 cents — and that’s only about 10 cents higher than it was nearly a decade earlier. The wage gap is closing… but at a very slow pace.
Recent statistics show that women in the U.S., on average, save significantly less for retirement ($57,000) than their male counterparts ($118,000). And nearly a quarter of women have $10,000 or less saved for retirement.
